How many lines can a typical cartridge print?
A typical cartridge is capable of printing 20,000 to 25,000 four line addresses, but this may vary substantially depending on what DPI is being used.
What should I do if I have problems restarting the cartridge?
Wipe the head of the cartridge with a lint free/scratch free cloth.
There are streaks through the text or bar code.
Wipe the head off carefully and purge the system (if a purging system is available). This is typically caused by the jets of the printhead clogging up. Wiping the head and purging can help unclog the jets.
There are black streaks around the text or bar code.
Wipe the cartridge with a wet lint free/scratch free cloth. Make sure to wipe carefully, as to not scratch the head. This is typically a problem of ink build up, and tends to happen more often on coated stock.
